Resolving Complexity Before Production
Commercial discussions began in May 2023, followed by approximately nine months of coordination before fabrication started in March–April 2024.
The extended preparation period brought the key parties together around the same priorities: the engineers' requirements for gravity, wind and installation safety; the designers' expectations for appearance; and the client's budget and material decisions.
By resolving most technical questions before the workshop stage, the team reduced production risk and completed fabrication in approximately one month.

Early Engineering Coordination

Reliable Material Strategy
The internal frame and exterior surface use 316 stainless steel. Embedded parts are stainless steel, while the base was upgraded from iron to 201 stainless steel.
Controlled Surface Quality
The brushed finish was adjusted and processed repeatedly across the large curved form, helping minimize visible interface traces and maintain a continuous appearance.

Client representatives and engineers visited the factory several times to review production progress, discuss details and confirm quality during fabrication.

The Finished Sculpture in Its Destination
Installation feedback shows the completed stainless steel sculpture in the Qiddiya City environment. The finished work retains the intended flowing form and presents a consistent brushed-metal surface at full scale.
